Everton reportedly want Vitor Pereira as their next manager following the dismissal of Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

The Toffees sacked Silva on Thursday night and he leaves the team sat 18th in the Premier League table.

According to Sky Sports, the Merseyside club are keen on current Shanghai SIPG boss Pereira to succeed Silva.

It is understood that the 51-year-old would consider an offer from Everton, but at the same time he is also weighing up a new contract offer from his current club Shanghai worth £30million a year.

The report explains that Pereira is one of the highest paid managers in the world and he was recently offered the Chinese national team position.

TBR’s View:

Pereira has just finished third in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai and is an experienced manager.

He’s previously coached in Europe with clubs such as Porto, Olympiakos, Fenerbahce and 1860 Munich.

The Portuguese manager is certainly high-profile and would arrive on Merseyside with plenty of experience, but has never taken charge in England before.

With Everton currently sat in the relegation zone of the Premier League, the club need to try act quickly to appoint a new man and they are entering a crucial run of fixtures in December that will ultimately shape their season.
