Report: Everton express interest in Merih Demiral

Everton have expressed their interest in Merih Demiral in a ‘very clear and evident way’, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Merseysiders seem to be keen on adding a centre-half to their squad this summer. Speculation has claimed that Yerry Mina is keen on leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Everton are reportedly in for a number of different targets, including the Juventus and Turkey star. They’ve been linked with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Ben White, however, the latter is close to sealing a move to Arsenal.

According to the Italian publication, the Old Lady will not let the 23-year-old leave for less than €30m (£25.7m). And they’re targeting Nikola Milenkovic as his potential replacement.

Would Demiral be a good signing for Everton amid reports of interest?

You feel as though a Demiral would be a superb addition to Everton amid reports of interest.

The defender has shown himself off to be a fantastic prospect during his time in Serie A. His move to Turin can after his monstrous performances for Sassuolo three seasons ago.

However, there is one major concern with regards to the Turkish international. His injury record highlights his inability to remain fit for an entire campaign.

Demiral was plagued with muscle injuries for Juventus last season.

Everton would be signing a fantastic prospect, however, his fitness issues could hamper him at Goodison Park.
