Everton are one of three clubs who enquired about San Lorenzo striker Adolfo Gaich, according to reports in Argentina. As per Todo Noticias, Benfica, Lazio and Everton have all enquired about the availability of Gaich.
But San Lorenzo will only let him leave if a club matches his release clause. Gaich is protected by a release clause of $15m (around £12.5m) which these three clubs are reluctant to pay at this stage.
The Argentina U20 striker caught the eye while playing for his country at the recent U20 World Cup. Despite Argentina’s disappointing performance, Gaich scored three goals and picked up an assist in four games.

Everton were scouting Santiago Sosa at the U20 World Cup and this is probably where they spotted Gaich. The 20-year-old has scored two senior goals for San Lorenzo in the Argentinian top-flight and could be set for a move to Europe now.
TBR’s view
Gaich has all the ingredients to be a hit in the Premier League. Standing at nearly 6ft 3in tall, there is a reason he is nicknamed ‘The Tank‘. Gaich is a battering ram-style centre-forward who is strong in the air and with the ball at his feet.
Given his lack of experience, Everton’s reluctance to pay £12.5m for the youngster is understandable. But if he is available at the right price in January or next summer, this might be worth revisiting.
