Everton are reportedly considering making a move for 19-year-old defender Marash Kumbulla. The Hellas Verona man is attracting interest from all around Europe and the Toffees are the latest club to be linked.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Carlo Ancelotti is keen to join the race for the promising Albanian’s signature. Just six months ago, Kumbulla was an unknown name but he is quickly becoming one of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe.

He has played 12 Serie A games this season and scored once along the way. The Albanian made his national team debut in October after putting in some extremely impressive performances for the Italian club.

Ancelotti will be keen to put his stamp on his Everton side this month. He is yet to make any additions but is reportedly keen on having a bit of an overhaul (Daily Mail). Centre-back is an area that could certainly be strengthened.

Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, and Mason Holgate are the only senior options Ancelotti has at his disposal. Signing a young prospect like Kumbulla will not only improve the quality of their defensive options but may push the current centre-backs to the next level.

Everton could also be an attractive destination for the young defender. He will have a greater chance of senior appearances than he would at a club like Chelsea. The Blues have also been linked with the Albanian (The Sun).
