Everton are set to make a bid for Merih Demiral in the near future, with Italian outlet Calciomercato reporting that the Toffees signing the Juventus centre-back is not out of the question.

Demiral is facing an uncertain future in Turin. Calciomercato suggests that the Old Lady are open to selling the Turkey international at the end of the season.

And Everton appear to be making the first move in the race to sign the 23-year-old.

According to Calciomercato, Carlo Ancelotti has been tracking Demiral for weeks. And it is claimed that negotiations over a deal worth around £50,000-a-week is being discussed.

In fact, Calciomercato suggests that a bid from Everton is coming. They will apparently offer between £21.7 million and £26 million (€25-€30m).

The report adds that that would be below what Juventus want for their 2019 signing. But the door is open for an agreement to be reached.

For Demiral, his focus is reportedly on the European Championships. It is said that he wants to consider his future after the tournament.

TBR View: Everton fans may have concerns about Demiral move

You could understand if Everton fans meanwhile, felt that a move for Demiral would be a gamble. He has not had the best time with Juve.

He has struggled with various injuries and they have restricted him to just 31 appearances in all competitions across two seasons.

If he can stay fit, he could be a fantastic signing for the Toffees. But it certainly looks to be a potential roll of the dice.
