Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have been discussing a potential swap deal involving Danny Rose and Lucas Digne, according to The Star.
Spurs want Digne as their long-term solution at left-back. But when approaching Everton, the Merseyside outfit have made it clear they want Rose as part of the deal.
Rose’s future at Tottenham is uncertain and the potential arrival of Digne would push him down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
A move to Everton could appeal to the England international, who would be competing with Leighton Baines for first-team minutes.
The 28-year-old joined Tottenham from Leeds back in 2007 and is approaching 200 games for the North London club.

But he has admitted that the Champions League final could be his last game, hinting at a potential summer exit. This could be a boost for Everton, who want Rose included in any deal which would see Digne move to Tottenham.
Digne has proven to be an inspired signing since his summer switch from Barcelona. The France international has played 34 Premier League games, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
The 25-year-old is the prime age to replace Rose at Tottenham and he has been identified as a top summer target.
Spurs are expected to splash the cash this summer after two windows of not signing anyone. And European football could help lure Digne to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
