Everton have been trying to convince Denzel Dumfries to join them, but have failed to do so as yet, the Express say.
Waiting game
Everton have been pushing to sign the PSV right-back for much of the summer so far.
However, his profile increased massively after a brilliant Euro 2020 tournament, where he was one of Holland’s star men.
As a result Dumfries has seemingly shown some reticence to join Everton.
While the full-back hasn’t ruled out the possibility of moving to Goodison Park, he knows that there could be other opportunities which emerge.
Quality addition
Everton are now waiting to hear the powerful full-back’s decision on whether he will join them.

In ordinary circumstances Everton may have just moved on.
But Dumfries appears to be a real high quality target, and his attacking qualities could be very welcomed by Rafael Benitez.
Everton do have Seamus Coleman but he is ageing now, and Dumfries looks like a high quality potential replacement – it is just that patience could be a virtue, while the club wait for a deal.
