Report: Everton are now in talks with £20 million striker’s agent over signing him this summer

Everton are in talks with the agent of Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis as they look to replace Richarlison this summer.

The Express claim that the Toffees are among the Premier League clubs who have had discussions with Dennis’ representative Drew Uyi.

West Ham and Southampton have also been sniffing around but have not made him a priority and have moved onto Gianluca Scamacca and Seydou Mara respectively.

Everton need at least one new forward to make up for the loss of their talismanic Brazilian and their summer has not gone 100 per cent to plan so far.

Everton in talks with Dennis’ agent

Dennis is being valued at £20 million by the relegated Hornets this summer, and that asking price seems to be putting off potential suitors.

Everton do have that money from the sale of Richarlison but they need to be prudent with their spending this summer as they look to balance the books.

Dennis did score for Watford in their 5-2 thumping of Everton at Goodison Park last October, and had an impressive season despite the club’s eventual relegation.

He netted ten goals last season and Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggled for form and fitness during a campaign which saw him lose his England place.

Everton of course raided Watford for Richarlison initially, and it would be a quirk of fate if they did the same to get his replacement.

There is the worry that Dennis was a one-season wonder, and that is a £20 million question for Everton, who need to accelerate their summer business.
