Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both interested in Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, but Spanish outlet Sport has suggested that the pair may need to act soon if they hope to sign the 27-year-old.
Sport has suggested that Rafinha is set to leave the Nou Camp this summer. He spent the majority of last season on loan at Celta.
And it is claimed that he has already attracted an offer from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua worth £14.4 million.
Sport claims that that bid would be enough to tempt Barca into a sale. But the player himself is holding out for a move to the Premier League, with the Toffees and Wolves interested.
The report adds however, that Barcelona want to offload Rafinha in the next two weeks. So the pair may need to act quickly if they want to land the midfielder.
TBR View: Rafinha move could be gamble for either Everton or Wolves
Rafinha’s ability has rarely been in doubt. He has perhaps not quite lived up to expectations during his career with the Catalan giants, but he is now heading into what could be the peak years of his career.
A move however, could be deemed a gamble for either Everton or Wolves.
He has struggled to stave off injury during his career. Admittedly, he goes into this summer off the back of a campaign where he made 33 appearances in all competitions.
And for £14.4 million, he has the potential to prove an inspired signing for Carlo Ancelotti or Nuno Espirito Santo. But he would certainly arrive with a massive point to prove if he did join either this summer.
