Report: Everton and West Ham looking to raid Wolves for midfielder, rated at £5m
A report from Voetbalkrant claims West Ham and Everton are among the clubs looking at signing Wolves midfielder Owen Otasowie. The midfielder broke into the Wolves side under Nuno Espirito Santo last season. West Ham and Everton are after Otasowie, but face competition.
Otasowie, 20, had played once before last season for Wolves but with injuries piling up – the United States interational was given a chance. He played six times in the Premier League for Wolves, even starting twice against Burnley and West Brom in the second half of 2020-21.
However, Otasowie is now in the final 12 months of his contract at Molineux. Five clubs are interested in signing the USA star. West Ham and Everton are two of those five teams, as are Ajax and Schalke. But the report states that Club Brugge are leading the charge to sign Otasowie.
West Ham and Everton want Wolves star Otasowie: A bargain at £5m
Otasowie is a bargain. The Athletic claim that Wolves will cash in on their talented midfielder for just £5million this summer. The USA man is a ball-playing star that has shown he has the quality to a job in England’s top flight. It is an enormously cheap figure, considering that.
West Ham or Everton? Well, Everton have numerous options in the middle of the park – Tom Davies, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes. West Ham, though, need additions in midfield – and Otasowie would be ideal ahead of a Europa League season.
