Three Premier League clubs want to sign Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur as well as Dutch champions Ajax.
The Athletic have produced a report on the state of play regarding the Netherlands international, amid the tangle of negotiations between Everton and Tottenham.
Everton are one of the clubs who want to sign him, but there are also two other Premier League outfits in the chase who are unnamed in the report.
Bergwijn prefers a return to Holland with Ajax, but they have so far been unable to come to an agreement, and that may test the winger’s patience.

Three Premier League clubs want Bergwijn
Earlier this week, it was reported in the Dutch press that Everton were willing to match Tottenham’s asking price for Bergwijn.
They would also be willing to offer the wideman a better set of personal terms than Ajax, despite their precarious financial position.
The Athletic report suggests the situation is not that advanced, with Everton needing to raise money from sales before they can buy Bergwijn.
They also say that any deal to buy Bergwijn would be separate from the attempts to get Richarlison to go from Merseyside to north London.

Antonio Conte suggested that Bergwijn was a player with ‘special‘ characteristics during the season but is clearly keen to offload him.
The Italian wants a forward through the door before selling him though, so Richarlison could hold the key, if two separate deals can be reached and agreed.
In the meantime, perhaps one of Bergwijn’s other two reported Premier League suitors will step forward and firm up their interest, but time will tell.
