French outlet La Provence have claimed that Everton and Crystal Palace have been rejected by midfielder Morgan Sanson, with the France Under-21 international opting to remain with Andre Villas-Boas’ side Marseille.
Sanson, 24, is already a household name in France after clocking up almost 250 senior appearances in French football – the majority coming with Montpellier and current side Marseille.
The midfielder impressed for Marseille last season, scoring five goals and creating four more for Marseille during 37 league and cup appearances. But a move to the Premier League, in Everton and Palace, will not take place.
That is because Sanson has opted to remain at Marseille as he is not looking to rush. Still only 24, he could remain another year in France with Marseille and further his development before chancing his arm in England.
Palace have needed midfielders throughout the summer, but in the last 24 hours they have moved to sign Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis – while James McCarthy has joined the club from Everton.
The Toffees, meanwhile, have brought in three central midfielders in Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Sanson, though, will not be on his way to England before Thursday’s 5pm deadline.
