Liverpool and Everton have joined the race to sign talented youngster Michael Olise from Reading, with a clutch of clubs across Europe starting to show their interest.

According to Teamtalk, the teenager is a wanted man with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Monaco and Napoli are all thought to be monitoring the situation.

Olise has been a big part of the Reading squad that have raced out of the blocks this season and sit top of the Championship.

The versatile forward has scored two goals and registered three assists this season, playing in the number 10 role and on both flanks.

His most recent goal came against Blackburn last week when he notched during a 4-2 win.

The Royals have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign and they won’t want to see their squad stripped of the crown jewels in January.

Given the nature of some of the clubs interested, however, they could be powerless if the big boys come calling.

Everton and Liverpool have both enjoyed strong starts to the campaign, with both providing Olise with a massive step up.

Both Merseyside-based clubs have a proud history with allowing young talent to thrive and could prove attractive propositions.

TBR View – Everton could be a better move for Olise

Although most players would find it hard to turn down Liverpool at the moment, Everton are perhaps a slightly better option for the Reading man.

Carlo Ancelotti has a smaller squad than Jurgen Klopp and would likely hand him more opportunities to shine in the first-team.

Having got the taste for senior football, Olise should go to a club where the pathway to the first team is clear – and that club could be the Toffees.
