CalcioMercato report that Matias Vecino has been given the green light to leave Inter Milan in January – with Everton and Leicester leading the chance to sign him. Jeunes Footeux say only £6.75million is needed.
Vecino, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season. He has been regularly involved in Simone Inzaghi’s side this season, but a long-term knee injury limited the Uruguay international to just nine appearances in 2019-20.
This season, he has already played 15 times in all competitions. But the chances of Vecino getting a new deal seem unlikely, even with Marcelo Brozovic in a similar boat to Vecino. A move to England looks more than likely.
That is, because CalcioMercato say that both Everton and Leicester want to sign the 56-time Uruguay star. Roma, Lazio and Sevilla are all keen, while the player has rejected Genoa and Napoli. But Everton and Leicester are on pole.

Everton and Leicester eye Vecino: Rodgers needs midfield experience
Everton have numerous options in the middle of the park. Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies, Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Leicester, though, need Vecino more than Everton.
Leicester’s midfield against Liverpool proved as much. With Wilfried Ndidi playing in defence, Brendan Rodgers named a midfield of Hamza Choudhury, Boubakary Soumare and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Experience is needed.
Vecino would hand Leicester an experienced midfielder, with European knowledge. For the bargain fee of £6.75million, he offers the perfect tutor for the likes of Choudhury and Dewsbury-Hall, too.
