Everton and Leicester City are reportedly showing interest in highly rated Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

90min have claimed the Toffees and the Foxes have joined a growing list of clubs that are keen on the Nigerian livewire, with Manchester United also in the mix.

Supposedly, Chukwueze is considering his future in Spain, with main interest coming from England.

The publication say that Chelsea are also lurking, with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future still somewhat up in the air.

If Villarreal are to become open to selling, it is though they will refer suitors to the player’s release clause, which is apparently in excess of £80 million.

The figure is the result of the playing penning a new contract twice in the last 16 months.

Chukwueze, 21, is widely regarding as one of La Liga’s most exciting young talents, and has been likened to Arjen Robben – his idol – in the past (Goal).

For Villarreal, he has 13 goals and 11 assists in 89 appearances, and his strike against Real Valladolid yesterday was his first in the league for 12 months.

He shows flashes of absolute brilliance for Villarreal, but the consistency isn’t quite there yet and his output in terms of goals and assists could be better for the reputation he has.

He could be a good signing for either Everton or Leicester, but neither club should be going anywhere near that release clause.

Some serious negotiation would have to take place, otherwise the clubs should be looking at other options – wingers with much more experience and consistency would be available for much cheaper.
