According to Mundo Deportivo, Everton have agreed personal terms with Andre Gomes, with a view to bringing the midfielder to Goodison Park on a permanent basis.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with the Toffees from parent club Barcelona. Having endured a tough time with the Spanish giants, Gomes was able to rediscover some form and confidence on Merseyside.
It would be the best thing for the Portuguese star’s career to escape the Camp Nou permanently. Returning to Everton would be a wise move on Gomes’ part and Marco Silva clearly appreciates his talent.

TBR’s view
Despite Gomes being clearly eager to join the club, Everton should not rush into sealing this deal. Whilst Gomes showed flashes of quality last season, he was not spectacular and struggled to provide end product.
Over the course of the entire Premier League campaign, he managed just one goal and one assist.
There are better options out there on the market for Silva to consider. If Everton are serious about challenging for Champions League qualification they must show more ambition in the market. Gomes is a good player, but he isn’t of such a level that he would be able to drag the club forward.
