Report: Everton close to agreeing on loan deal with PSG for Kean
Everton are close to agreeing on a loan deal with an option to buy with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) for Moise Kean.
According to Fabrizio Romano, any deal to take the Italian to the Parcs des Princes will not be permanent.
The youngster spent last season on loan with the French giants in what was a brilliant campaign. Kean featured in over 40 appearances, scoring 19 times for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
It was reported that Kean preferred to remain in the French capital after he drew links to Inter and Juventus.
The news comes after Everton announced Rafa Benitez’s arrival as their new manager. Benitez has signed a three-year deal and joins after more than four months out of management.
TBR View: A loan deal to PSG for Kean is a horrible move from Everton
A loan deal for Kean to PSG is a horrible move from Everton.
It’s become abundantly clear from both the player’s attitude and his spell in France last season that he has no future in Merseyside. That coupled with Everton’s lack of European football means there’s next to no chance of seeing him play for the Blues again.
So, to sell the player as opposed to loaning him would make sense.
Kean’s current transfer value is at a high price after his performance last campaign. The Italy international scored 19 times, making him PSG’s second top scorer behind just Kylian Mbappe.
The Merseysiders are likely to make a fairly decent profit after purchasing him for an initial £25.1m.
It’s further confusing after Everton’s latest financial results. The Coronavirus pandemic left a sizable hole in the side’s finances. with Everton announcing a loss of over £139.9m last December.
Selling him now makes more sense than ever amid Everton’s latest baffling decision.
