German website Sport Buzzer claim that Josip Brekalo has handed in a transfer request at Wolfsburg, urging the Bundesliga club to sell him. Leeds United and Everton are among the clubs keen on signing Croatia’s Euro 2020 winger. The report claims a fee of £12.75million will see him move.
Brekalo, 23, was indifferent for Wolfsburg last season – having a hand in 10 goals during 29 Bundesliga outings last term. The 27-time Croatia international has enjoyed better spells of form at Wolfsburg – with overall stats of 21 goals and 16 assists in 120 outings for his current side.
Now, CalcioMercato claim Leeds want Brekalo – while Everton is also an option according to the Express. More recently, Alfredo Pedulla says Lazio are keen, with ex-Chelsea gaffer Maurizio Sarri in the dugout. Now, Brekalo can leave and Wolfsburg are said to want a fee of around £12.75million.

Brekalo a bargain at £12.75million, but Everton a better move than Leeds
That is, even though Everton have secured deals to sign Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend. The Toffees also boast Richarlison and Alex Iwobi as options out wide – but Iwobi might have to leave this summer. Richarlison is probably better used up front, depending on Rafa Benitez’s system.
At Leeds, they have Jack Harrison and Raphinha on the wings. Brekalo would be first reserve, but he would not be starting. At Everton, he has a much better chance of starting. Brekalo is a bargain, either way, for just £12.75million.
