According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid could look to keep hold of Martin Odegaard this summer in order to try and lure Erling Haaland to the Bernabeu.
The Norwegian forward is one of Europe’s hottest properties after another fine week saw him add to his Champions League tally.

Along with Kylian Mbappe, Haaland is widely tipped to become one of the greatest forwards in the world. However, per MD, his friendship with Odegaard could have consequences for Arsenal.
It is claimed Madrid will use Odegaard as bait to ensure Haaland chooses the Spanish capital over other suitors. The Dortmund striker has a release clause in his contract which comes into force in the summer of 2022, although bids are expected this year.

The Gunners are looking increasingly likely to want to keep Odegaard, however. Mikel Arteta has already spoken of how impressed he has been with the midfielder, while Odegaard played well against Benfica last night, too.
TBR View: Madrid well within their rights but Odegaard does seem to fit well with Arsenal
It always looked a match made in heaven the Odegaard to Arsenal deal. He is exactly what they needed and looks to be fitting in quite nicely.
Of course, a boost in his wages – he earns a reported £100k-a-week with the Gunners – could be motivating him. We also don’t know if he still sees himself with a future in Madrid.
And if his big friend Haaland hints at a move to Spain, it could convince Odegaard to stay put.
