Report: Erik ten Hag is a huge admirer of ‘incredible’ £30m player who Tottenham could be about to bid for
Spurs currently boast a brilliant range of attacking options with the likes of Heung-Min Son, Richarlison, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski at the club.
Despite the quartet seemingly providing Conte with plenty of options across the front-three, Spurs could be in the market for another attacking option next month.
Calciomercato.it has suggested that Tottenham could now accelerate their bid to sign Ajax star Kudus in an attempt to keep Conte at the club.
The injuries picked up by Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison before the World Cup break have highlighted the need for another forward option at Tottenham.
Conte doesn’t seem to trust the likes of Bryan Gil, while Lucas Moura has failed to impress since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But it seems that they could face competition for the signature of Kudus as his old boss Ten Hag remains a massive fan of the player.
Ten Hag huge admirer of Kudus
The Athletic reports that Ten Hag admires the skill and dynamism Kudus provides after managing him during his time at Ajax.
United will be in the market for a striker over the coming transfer windows after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. And while Kudus operated off the right-hand side for Ghana at the World Cup, he has mainly played as a centre-forward for the Dutch champions this season.
The 22-year-old has bagged 10 goals and provided two assists in 21 appearances for Ten Hag’s old side during the current campaign.
The youngster has shown he has a keen eye for goal, especially in the Champions League as he netted four times in six appearances.
Kudus has a firm desire to leave Ajax in January and the Dutch outfit want at least £30 million for the Ghanaian, according to the Athletic.
TBR View: Tottenham need Kudus more than United
Kudus would be an excellent addition to both Spurs and United, but Antonio Conte’s men arguably need the Ajax star more right now.
United boast plenty of options to play out wide and raided Ajax over the summer for Brazilian winger Antony.
Ten Hag’s side are lacking an out-and-out striker in the squad and have been playing Marcus Rashford in the role so far this season.
That being said, Kudus has proven he can play effectively through the middle, and Ten Hag did say he has ‘incredible potential’.
