Italian newspaper La Nazione have claimed that Fiorentina midfielder Erick Pulgar has three offers on the table – and one of those is from Leeds United, while Cagliari and Sassuolo have also made bids to sign the Chilean.
Pulgar, 27, has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds of late. The 24-time Chile ace has been constantly rumoured to be a target for Leeds after a stellar 2019-20 campaign in which he had a hand in 15 goals, in 41 games.
This season, his form has dipped and he has even lost his place in the starting line-up of late. That has placed his future with La Viola into doubt, and the latest report claims Leeds are interested in the South American.
La Nazione claims Leeds have tabled an offer for Pulgar – but so have Cagliari and Sassuolo. But Fiorentina have have rejected all three as none meet their £11.5million valuation. Fiorentina also want a replacement, first.
TBR’s view – £11.5m for Pulgar is good business
Tuesday night’s match against Newcastle showed just how much Leeds need a midfielder. Mateusz Klich was dropped – something which was needed given the amount of games the Polish ace has got through recently.
Rodrigo was excellent, but Stuart Dallas struggled alongside him. Certainly, Dallas is naturally a winger and looked a little lost in the middle. The Whites need a midfielder as cover for Klich and Pulgar, at £11.5million, is ideal.
