Arsenal boss Unai Emery is supposedly ready to loan out Eddie Nketiah this summer.
The Mirror report the Spaniard wants the 20-year-old striker to get regular game time to build on the nine first-team appearances he was handed in 2018/19.
Nketiah is considered one of the brightest young prospects at the Emirates, and he was handed his debut by Arsene Wenger in September 2017 against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.
Emery gave him a handful of appearances throughout 2018/19, but he was firmly behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the pecking order.
The Mirror claim Championship side Charlton Athletic are the team most likely to sign him for the 2019/20 season.
They’re now back in the English second tier after beating Sunderland in the League One play-off final.
A move to Charlton could be good for Nketiah, who would probably be wasted staying at the Emirates next term.
He needs to be playing regularly and the Championship would be a great test for him.
Arsenal did business with Charlton last summer with Krystian Bielik moving to The Valley – a stint that was undoubtedly positive for the Pole’s development.
Providing such a move went well, Nketiah could be ready to truly make his mark for Arsenal in the 2020/21 season.
