Rangers defender Lee Wallace is reportedly on the radar of Dundee United.

According to the Daily Record, Scottish Championship side Dundee United are keen on the 31-year-old and they will have a better chance of signing him if they earn promotion.

It is understood that Dundee United manager Robbie Neilson previously played with Wallace at Hearts and is now eyeing a reunion with his ex-teammate.

Wallace is exit-bound from Ibrox after spending eight years with Rangers and has rarely been involved in Steven Gerrard’s thoughts this season.

The left-back has made just three senior appearances all campaign and featured against Aberdeen in the league at the weekend.

His contract expires at the end of the season with the Light Blues and he stayed with the club during the lower leagues.

TBR’s View:

Wallace’s time at Rangers has come to a natural end and the support he received from fans at the weekend showed how he’s valued.

The Scottish full-back should still be able to make an impact at a top-flight rival next season and that is why he could be a brilliant addition for Dundee United on a free transfer if they secure promotion.

Rangers have had plenty of options at left-back throughout this season, with Borna Barisic, Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday all being used at certain points.
