Duje Caleta-Car is thought to be amongst the options on the radar of Southampton as they look to replace Jannik Vestergaard this summer, according to a report from Hampshire Live.
Vestergaard became the latest key man to leave St Mary’s in this window when he joined Leicester City last week.

Of course, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side had already lost Ryan Bertrand and Danny Ings this summer.
Signing a new centre-back looks to be imperative – particularly after they suffered defeat on the opening day of the new Premier League season.

And it seems that they have several options on their wishlist. The Telegraph reported at the weekend that they are in talks with a number of players abroad.
And perhaps one of those could be Caleta-Car. Hampshire Live reports that the 24-year-old is thought to be an option, along with Ozan Kabak.
Southampton may reportedly find themselves priced out of the race. But it will encourage Saints fans that the Marseille man is being mentioned.
Caleta-Car would be an outstanding signing for Southampton
Southampton have some impressive defenders. Mohammed Salisu, Jan Bednarek and Jack Stephens are all good players. Salisu, in particular, looks to have a bright future ahead.
But they arguably need a player to bring the defensive unit together. They really struggled on Saturday.
And the Croatia international would surely be that figure.
Southampton have received significant fees for Ings and Vestergaard this summer.
So if the Ligue 1 side are not demanding an eye-watering sum, perhaps Saints need to seriously consider making a big play for him.
