Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Leeds United defender Diego Llorente is finally set to declare himself fit and available for selection ahead of Saturday evening’s clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Llorente, 27, joined Leeds in the summer for a fee of £18million (Mundo Deportivo) and was an unused substitute during the 1-1 draw with Manchester City. However, the Spain international is yet to make his debut for Leeds.

An injury picked up while on international duty has since seen Llorente miss the last two months of action. Instead, Liam Cooper and Robin Koch has formed an excellent partnership at centre-back – keeping two clean sheets in their last two games.

A video posted on Leeds’ website showed Llorente had returned to Leeds training and now a report from one of the biggest outlets from Llorente’s home country has now confirmed he is available – ahead of this weekend’s match against Chelsea.

TBR’s view – Llorente return a boost, but who does he replace?

Koch has started and finished every single minute of action for Leeds since replacing Ben White, following his move from Freiburg. When fit, Cooper has played alongside the Germany international and the duo are forming quite the partnership.

Two excellent clean sheets in two games – as well as a developing partnership along with goalkeeper Illan Meslier – is proof that Leeds have made themselves not only exciting in attack, but solid at the back. Llorente will have to wait for his chance.
