The Diego Carlos to Newcastle United transfer saga shows no signs of slowing down.
Newcastle have seemingly been trying for weeks to sign the Sevilla ace.
However, Carlos’ club has shown few signs of relenting and selling him to the Magpies.

Today, 90min has provided an update on the purported state of play in the transfer saga.
Newcastle reportedly want to pay around £30m for the Brazilian.
The Magpies are apparently keen to have the deal done so Carlos can join the squad on their training trip to Saudi Arabia during the winter break.
However, Sevilla are digging their heels in and Newcastle may have to pay £60million for Carlos, added the report.
This isn’t far off the 28-year-old’s release clause, reported to be £66million.
Newcastle’s new owners have apparently already backed out of deals which would have come at a similar cost.
However, there has reportedly been one particular development which could greatly benefit the Magpies.
Namely, that Carlos’ representatives have arrived in Seville in a bid to convince director of football Monchi to sell the defender to Newcastle.

The Magpies are apparently still in the driving seat, but they also appear to have competition from Tottenham.
Furthermore, Sevilla named Carlos in the starting XI once again today, for their La Liga game with Celta Vigo.
With clubs usually resting players so as to not jeopardise any imminent transfers, it shows that Sevilla are intent on keeping him.
This is a saga that could well go right down to the wire on transfer deadline day.
