You can forgive Leeds United fans for being some of the more pessimistic fans in the country. The West Yorkshire side have been through the mill over the past few years but one man has seemingly helped pull them from the depths.
That man is Marcelo Bielsa, who has masterminded the club’s return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.
However, as of right now, the Argentine has not yet signed a new deal to remain the Leeds manager in the Premier League.
It has some Leeds fans concerned that perhaps ‘El Loco’ might do something predictably Bielsa by unpredictably leaving his station.
However, Sky Sports reported last night that this is not the case, and that Bielsa’s contract renewal is just a matter of time away.
They claim that talks have taken place and a deal is ‘very, very close’. They also suggest Bielsa did not immediately want to discuss his future after promotion as he simply wanted to enjoy the celebrations after a unique Leeds United campaign.
It simply seems that getting a deal done to secure Bielsa is a slow-burning process, as Leeds discovered last summer with his previous renewal and when he initially took the job.
So it seems Bielsa will indeed be leading Leeds United into the Premier League next season, which might just prove to be the most important signing the club makes this summer.
