The Guardian report that Newcastle’s ex-Bournemouth trio Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Matt Ritchie are excited to see Eddie Howe appointed.

Howe, 43, is expected to be handed the managerial reigns at Newcastle – and he could even be in the dugout this Saturday against Brighton.

It comes after Newcastle were publicly rejected by first-choice target Unai Emery. The Villarreal gaffer posted a statement on social media this week.

Amanda Staveley and the rest of the Newcastle board have moved quickly. They have seemingly gone after Howe, who will be given a three-year deal.

It sees him sign on until June 2024. A Guardian report shares what Fraser, Ritchie and Wilson think – after working with him at Bournemouth.

The report reads: “It has been welcomed by the team’s three former Bournemouth players, Callum Wilson, Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser.”

Fraser, Wilson and Ritchie stance will help Howe at Newcastle

It is difficult for any manager to join a Premier League side. To join Newcastle at any point, has been seen as a poisoned chalice of late.

But now, it is even more under pressure because of the £305million takeover. Players will be expectant and Howe will be under pressure.

He will not be the glittery, sparkly appointment some had hoped for. But he brings man management skills, tactics and relegation scrap experience.

Not only that, but to have three men in his corner at the club already, massively helps Howe. It helps him get the squad onside early.
