The Mail claim Antonio Conte will shoot above Harry Kane in terms of pay, by taking home a huge £250,000 a week at Tottenham Hotspur.

Conte, 52, is set to put pen to paper on an 18-month deal at Spurs – replacing Nuno Espirito Santo. The Italian is likely to be announced on Tuesday.

Spotrac claim that Kane, Tanguy Ndombele and Son Heung-min (Guardian) are all paid around £200,000 a week. But Conte is set to eclipse that.

It is believed he will be handed a £13million-a-year deal, which equates to a whopping £250,000, every week. A clause has also been included.

Indeed, Spurs will have the option to extend Conte’s 18-month spell by a further year if Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici see fit to do so.

Conte contract details: Tottenham wages demand immediate respect

With Nuno, he was likely to be on a smaller wage than the likes of Kane, Son and plenty more Tottenham players. It makes him less of a figure.

Stories were leaked on a regular basis about Nuno – with many stating that the players were not happy with his training, or how cold he was.

But the fact he was on less wages than some of the players meant those senior at Tottenham ran over him. That will not be the case with Conte.

Not just because Conte seems to be a lot stricter from the outset, but because he will be paid more. It immediately demands respect.
