Report details Tottenham players surprise at lack of Gareth Bale involvement

ESPN have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur’s players are surprised at Gareth Bale’s lack of involvement under Jose Mourinho this season, due to his impressive performances in training – and expect his game time to improve.

Bale, 31, rejoined Tottenham seven years after leaving the North London side to rejoin Real Madrid. But he has managed just two Premier League starts – scoring three goals in his 12 league and cup appearances so far.

It is fair to say the 83-time Wales international would have been expected to have more of an impact and after remaining an unused substitute against Fulham, pundits have begun to question his arrival at the club.

A report from ESPN now states that Tottenham’s squad are surprised by his lack of game time and are sympathising with Bale – especially due to his training form. It is expected he will feature more in the second half of the season.

TBR’s view – An in-form Bale would take Spurs into top four

Bale has not even shown half the form he can do. Yes, he probably is not capable pf being the flying winger that we became accustomed to at Real, but certainly he still has the goalscoring ability that Tottenham need.

He showed against Brighton that he has the knack of being able to score crucial goals and help Spurs kill off games. Against Fulham, he would have been ideal but Mourinho chose not to use him for whatever reason.

If he can finally convince Mourinho and show some good form, Spurs will surely solidify a top-four slot.
