Italian outlet CalcioMercato have detailed Maurizio Sarri’s contract demands amid links to both Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma, with the report stating that he wants initially a two-year deal with the option of a third season.
Sarri, 62, has been without a club since the end of last season having guided Juventus to the Serie A title – something Andrea Pirlo is struggling to do. He also guided Juventus to the Coppa Italia final, but they suffered a loss to Napoli.
The ex-Chelsea manager has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham over the past few days since the sacking of Jose Mourinho, who was relieved of his duties just six days before the Carabao Cup final – which Spurs lost.
The latest report from Italy claims that Sarri wants a deal until the summer of 2023 with the option of extending that until 2024. It is also claimed that he is looking for a wage between £67,000 a week, and £75,000 a week.

TBR’s view – Sarri a somewhat cheap option
Given that some managers in the Premier League, certainly at the biggest clubs, are taking home more than £200,000 a week, Sarri at £75,000 a week is a decent option. But he is not only cheap because of his wages.
The experienced Italian also proves to be cheap – something which Daniel Levy will love – because he is not currently employed and that means Spurs will save a heap of cash in terms of compensation.
Jamie Redknapp recently stated that Spurs fans would be disillusioned with the appointment of Sarri but if it saves them some money which can be spent on a new signing, supporters might come round to the idea.
