TuttoMercatoWeb report that Antonio Conte is set to join Tottenham, and his assistant will be 47-year-old Cristian Stellini – who was his no.2 at Inter.
Stellini is a household name in Italian football, clocking up almost 500 league appearances in his home country. Two of which, came for Roma.
He has since entered the world of coaching after retirement in 2010. Of course, Stellini has worked under Conte numerous times.
His first stint as assistant manager was at Siena, during the 2010-11 season in which Conte was gaffer. He followed Conte to Juventus.
But Stellini left Juventus in 2012 – with Conte remaining until 2014. That is because he enjoyed a stint as manager of Genoa’s reserve side.
Two years at Genoa, saw him earn the chance to manage Serie B side Alessandria for two years. Then, he returned to work under Conte, at Inter.

Stellini to Tottenham: First stint outside of Italy for Conte assistant
While he is enormously experienced as a player, assistant manager and senior manager – Stellini has only ever worked in Italy.
This is a big move for the former defender, who is likely to sign similar terms to the ones Conte is about to pen – until June 2023.
But given he has worked alongside Conte in helping Inter win the Scudetto, the duo clearly work well together. Spurs fans will be hoping so, anyway.
