Argentine website El Intransigente have detailed the stance of Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos amid reports that Liverpool want to sign the South American attacker in the summer – with the Spanish club rating him at a whopping £55million.
Ocampos, 26, has clocked up 75 appearances for Sevilla – scoring 24 goals and created nine assists since he joined the Spanish side from Marseille. His form for Julian Lopetegui’s side has been excellent, but has caught admirers.
Over the weekend, La Razon claimed Liverpool were interested in signing Argentina international Ocampos. Indeed, the report claims Takumi Minamino could be included in a deal to sign Ocampos – but it was unclear if Ocampos was keen on a move.
The latest report claims that Ocampos – who is rated at £55million – wants to join Liverpool, largely because it would see River Plate earn 3.5% figure of the sum Liverpool paid. If £55million, River Plate would receive the best part of £2million.
TBR’s view – Ocampos versatility makes him ideal Origi replacement
Liverpool need an attacker that can give Jurgen Klopp the ideal striker that has the ability to play anywhere in the final third, whether that be Roberto Firmino’s false nine position, as a striker, or replacing Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
Diogo Jota is pushing for a starting spot but Divock Origi is simply not up to Liverpool standard. Ocampos is, and he is able to play in all three positions. It makes complete sense, but the only question mark is the price tag.
