Leeds United and Crystal Palace have been linked with a move to sign highly-rated Reading star Michael Olise as he continues to shine in the Championship – and a recent report has touted how much the Royals want for their breakthrough talent.

Olise, 19, has now clocked up an impressive 48 league and cup appearances for Reading but his best form has come this season. With Reading sitting in eighth and pushing for the play-offs, France Under-18 star Olise has been on fire.

The attacking midfielder has had a hand in 11 goals during his 20 Championship outings – scoring four and creating 11, of which he has scored twice in his last three games. The Sunday People (20/12; page 53) reports that Leeds and Palace are interested.

Now, a report from 90Min has identified how much interested parties will have to spend to sign the Championship starlet. The report states that Leeds, Palace or other clubs may have to spend a whopping £30million to land the teenager’s signature.

TBR’s view – Olise is a top, top talent… but at £30m?

£30million is an enormous amount of money and would be a club-record fee for Leeds – after spending £27million on Rodrigo Moreno. If Leeds are to spend such a figure, he would have to be an instant hit at Elland Road.

He would have to provide the difference between sitting in mid-table and entering a relegation dog fight. If Leeds or Palace can arrange a fee, perhaps in the region of half that figure, than a deal would be better. But at £30million, Leeds need to avoid Olise.
