Everton are once again being linked with a summer move for Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser. That is according to 90min, who suggest the Scotland international is set to leave the Cherries on a free transfer in the summer.
As reported by The Mirror last November, Fraser was hoping for £100,000-a-week to remain at Dean Court after his excellent 2018-19 campaign. The 26-year-old scored eight goals and provided 15 assists last season. But it seems no agreement has been reached and Fraser could be on his way out.
Everton fans would have happily seen him arrive in the summer as a consequence and, as reported by the Liverpool Echo in May, the Toffees were keen.
That report claimed that Fraser has admirers at Everton. However, it also suggested why Marco Silva was against the idea.
The report highlighted the Portuguese’s desire for Everton to sign a left-footed wideman, which Fraser is not.
It seems that Silva was simply not overly keen on bringing the 11-cap international to Goodison Park. Instead, Everton pursued Wilfried Zaha and eventually signed Alex Iwobi. Both are right-footed, so it appears the initial Fraser logic was tossed aside.
However, given Fraser’s less impressive form in Bournemouth’s difficult 2019-20 campaign, not many Everton fans will be clamouring for his £100,000-a-week signature this time around.
