Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is edging ever closer to the exit door it seems, with the England man said to have been sitting out training.
According to The Telegraph, Alli has not trained for the last few days. The move comes as speculation continues to grow that Alli will get a move to PSG before the end of January.
However, that move is reliant on Daniel Levy authorising the deal. The Spurs supremo is said to be conscious of not having a replacement for Alli in place, although Jose Mourinho is happy for the midfielder to go.
But the latest move from Alli – or Mourinho – would suggest something is close. Sitting out training is often the last thing players do before a move away is confirmed. It looks very much, then, like Alli could well be on his way.
The England man has fallen well down the pecking order under Mourinho. He was also left out of the weekend FA Cup tie with Wycombe, despite impressing at Marine in the round prior.
TBR View: Alli is going here, there’s no other explanation
We’ve been waiting all window for it to be confirmed really. But there can be no question now that Dele Alli is going to leave in the coming days.
He clearly wants the move, and Mourinho is also happy for it to happen. Levy’s stance is admirable but it will do the team and Alli no favours at all if he doesn’t ok the move.
For PSG, they’ll be getting a player hungry to prove himself again under a manager he knows and respects.
