American outlet CBS Sports have claimed that DeAndre Yedlin has pencilled in a meeting on Monday with Newcastle United’s hierarchy to discuss his future – with a potential exit set to be on the cards.
Yedlin, 27, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Newcastle. The former Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland speed machine has struggled for regular game time this season.
Javi Manquillo has been offered a new contract by Newcastle, while Emil Krafth was only signed by the club last summer. Despite clocking up 114 appearances in four seasons – it is increasingly likely he will be offloaded.
The report claims that there is a 90% chance Yedlin will leave the club this summer, with the £5million (CBS) signing interesting clubs in Germany. A meeting on Monday will determine that outcome.

TBR’s view – Yedlin needs to leave Newcastle
More than 100 appearances in four seasons with the Toon, Yedlin needs to further his career and experience a new challenge. If he is to remain at the Toon, he is hardly going to improve his amount of game time next term.
Leaving this summer gives Yedlin the chance to reignite his somewhat stuttering career – whether that is in the exciting Bundesliga, a return to the MLS or even staying in the Premier League with suitors likely to be aplenty.
