According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have submitted a £25m bid for Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey.
What’s the story?
Well, the Villans have offered a significant amount of money for the 9-cap Jamaica international.
However, Bayer Leverkusen are not satisfied, and have rejected the bid.
If the offer had been accepted, it would’ve made Bailey the third-most expensive player in Aston Villa’s history.
Currently, Emiliano Buendia and Ollie Watkins are the two most expensive transfers Villa Park has ever seen, according to Transfermarkt.
Bailey enjoyed his best goalscoring campaign for Bayer Leverkusen ever last term, netting 15 goals in all competitions.
Will Aston Villa submit another bid?

Sadly, the Daily Mail do not offer any news about a second bid.
However, there is some form of encouragement.
It’s written that Bailey is open to a move to the Premier League.

In that respect, if Aston Villa can satisfy Bayer Leverkusen financially, it might not be too difficult to convince the 23-year-old to join.
If the Villans pull this off, it would certainly be a contender for signing of the summer – in our view, at least.
