The likes of West Ham United and Newcastle United have potentially been dealt a blow ahead of the January transfer window, with The Sun reporting that Chelsea are not keen to loan Fikayo Tomori to a Premier League rival.
It would be little surprise to see Tomori on the move next month. The 22-year-old has made just one substitute appearance in the top flight this season.
However, it appears that neither side are favourite to sign the Blues man. The Sun reports that Nice want Tomori. And Frank Lampard is not keen to loan him to another English club.
TBR View: West Ham may have suspected uphill battle
West Ham would have surely had an idea that they faced a tough task signing Tomori – because of their success this season.
Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell have been outstanding this term. Their form when playing together has meant that summer signing Craig Dawson is yet to make his debut for the Irons.
Of course, Arthur Masuaku’s injury may complicate matters for David Moyes. But right now, the Hammers are surely unable to offer the kind of assurances Chelsea will want as they decide what the future holds for Tomori.
