David Moyes still wants Leicester City defender Luke Thomas even if West Ham United sign Maxwel Cornet.
The Guardian report that the Hammers are now leading the race for the Burnley man, who suffered relegation at Turf Moor last season.
He has a £17.5 million release clause but West Ham are apparently trying to negotiate a lower price, which could leave them vulnerable to another club stealing in.
But even if they get Cornet, they still want Thomas to help bolster their options further down the left hand side.

West Ham want Luke Thomas
Cornet can play all the way down the left flank, but was an attacking outlet for Burnley last season and that seems to be where West Ham see him too.
Thomas looks like a future senior England international, and Gareth Southgate is not exactly flush with options in that area of the pitch.
Brendan Rodgers has called him ‘incredible‘ and is currently fending off interest in his best players, such as James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel.

West Ham have had an interest in Filip Kostic, but the report says he is now reluctant to leave Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt.
With the Premier League season looming large, West Ham are trying to ramp up their summer business as they prepare for another season of European football.
And Thomas and Cornet could well come in, although it would be a surprise if Leicester gave up their Englishman without a real fight.
