Report: Daniel Levy will not even contemplate selling 'unbelievable' Tottenham player right now
The Daily Mail report that the Spurs supremo will not even contemplate letting the England captain leave before the end of his contract.
That means that if Kane does want to leave Tottenham, he will have to run down the remaining 18 months of his current deal and leave on a free.
Kane flirted with joining Manchester City under Nuno Espirito Santo but the report says Spurs insist they never would have sold their ‘unbelievable‘ number ten.
Levy will not consider selling Kane
Levy’s stance can be seen in one of two ways.
If Kane is not going to commit to Spurs, it may make sense to get a fee before the gets to the point where he can leave on a free transfer.
On the other hand, as his contract ticks down, so does his market value, and the money Spurs could realistically command would not even outweigh the huge loss of Kane.
The City avenue looks closed given that Erling Haaland has now joined them and is absolutely tearing up the Premier League.
That said, he looks like a player keen to sample every major European league, so he may not be at the Ethiad Stadium for a huge period of time.
Levy’s reported stance offers as much time as possible for the landscape to change, and time will tell whether it is the right approach.
For now, Kane is focused on winning the World Cup with England, as he goes in search of the first major trophy of his career.
