Ceballos enjoyed an interesting international break. He initially suggested, in comments reported by the Daily Mirror, that he was pleased that he left the Bernabeu for the Emirates.
However, he then clarified to Marca that he is still determined to make the grade with Los Blancos upon his return. But reports have since suggested that Ceballos has indeed got one eye on sealing a permanent move to North London.
El Desmarque has reported that the 23-year-old has held talks with Perez and is keen to extend his stay with the Gunners beyond this season. He reportedly fears that Perez may scupper his chances of a move.
The report notes that Madrid are likely to want around £35 million for the midfielder. That would certainly suggest that the La Liga side would not close the door on the idea of selling Ceballos.
Based on the start that Ceballos has made, a permanent move could be a fantastic deal for Arsenal. Gunners fans have probably not seen the best of the Spaniard yet. But he has still made a very bright start to life in the Premier League.
It would be a big statement if they could sign Ceballos permanently, especially after his recent comments about staying at Madrid. And it appears that they have cleared one big hurdle, with Ceballos reportedly keen on a move.
