According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud during the January transfer window.
Palace are enjoying an excellent start to the season. Even after losing to Manchester City at the weekend, Roy Hodgson’s men sit sixth in the Premier League table.

However, goalscoring remains a problem. They have scored just eight goals in nine games. Only three sides have scored fewer goals than the Eagles.
The Sun reports that Hodgson would like to address their woes in front of goal with a move for Giroud. The report notes that the Frenchman is open to leaving the Blues having only played a peripheral role this season.

The Sun suggests that Frank Lampard is reluctant to let Giroud go. But if he is allowed to leave in January, Chelsea would reportedly want just £3 million for the 33-year-old, who earns £100,000-a-week with Chelsea.

Giroud is coming towards the end of his career at the highest level. But it would be a no-brainer for Palace to make a move if they could sign the forward for just £3 million.
He has scored 78 goals during his Premier League career. And Palace surely cannot afford to not sign a new striker while the January window is open.
Jordan Ayew has made a bright start to this season. But just three other players have found the back of the net.
Signing Giroud however, would give them a much better chance of remaining around their current position in the table come the end of the campaign.
