Crystal Palace are said to be only club to have lodged a firm bid for Brentford winger, Said Benrahma, according to a report from The Sun.
The Algerian international is a wanted man this summer but as yet, has stayed with the Bees as clubs have been put off by the asking-price of Brentford. It is widely-believed they want around £25m for Benrahma, although that could change as the window ticks down.
But despite a number of clubs, including Arsenal and West Ham, being keen, it appears that Palace are the only team with an actual bid in lodged for the winger.
Along with Ollie Watkins, Benrahma was the standout performer for the Bees as they just missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, losing in the playoff final to Fulham.
The report claims Palace could still have the money for Benrahma even if they land Liverpool striker, Rhian Brewster.
Palace would be a huge threat with yet another Championship addition – TBR View
As if Roy Hodgson’s men don’t already look like a frightening proposition from wide attacking areas, the addition of the Algerian star would take them up a further notch.
The likes of Zaha and Schlupp have been great, while Ebere Eze has settled in superbly well and looked assured.
If Palace can pull this one off and then bring in Brewster as well, then you wouldn’t bet against them securing a top ten finish this season.
