Report: Crystal Palace refuse to budge on £80m Zaha demands amid Arsenal and Chelsea interest

Crystal Palace will not compromise on their asking price of £80m for Wilfried Zaha this January, according to The Guardian.

Earlier this week, Arsenal and Chelsea were tipped to move for Zaha in January, as per The Express. However, Palace are desperate to keep their talisman and will demand £80m for him to be prised away from Selhurst Park.

Zaha has established himself as a fan favourite at Crystal Palace. The Ivory Coast international came through the ranks with Palace and has played just under 350 games across two spells.

But last summer, he was seeking an exit. Arsenal were keen on Zaha but felt he was overpriced so they moved for Nicolas Pepe instead. The Gunners remain keen on Zaha, who has scored twice this season.

Chelsea will provide competition for Zaha’s signature. The Blues had a transfer ban in the summer but this has been lifted before the January window opens. Frank Lampard is mulling over his options with Zaha among his targets.

TBR’s view

Palace are under no pressure to sell Zaha, even though he wanted to leave in the summer. He is on a long-term contract with the Eagles so they must avoid losing him on the cheap.

Arsenal splashed the cash on Pepe in the summer and Zaha could work well with his international team-mate. But they might be priced out of this move ahead of the January window.
