Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly let Kyle Walker-Peters leave on loan.

Walker-Peters has been made available for loan in January with Crystal Palace interested, according to The Sun. This could be a half-season loan starting in January.

Mauricio Pochettino sold Kieran Trippier in the summer, leaving Walker-Peters competing with Serge Aurier for the right-back spot. Since the summer, neither player has managed to nail down that starting spot.

Walker-Peters started the season as the first-choice right-back. But the 22-year-old has only played four times this season – three in the league – and could now seek a temporary exit.

The former England U21 right-back has played a total of 23 teams for the Tottenham first-team. In the past, Pochettino has blocked him from leaving on loan. But he now appears to have made a U-turn on this decision for the sake of Walker-Peters’ career.

Crystal Palace failed to sign a new right-back in the summer and could explore this option in January. The Eagles are currently sixth – three points ahead of Tottenham in ninth.

TBR’s view

This would be an ideal career move for Walker-Peters, provided that Tottenham have adequate cover at right-back. Trippier’s sale is now looking like a mistake with Aurier struggling. But Juan Foyth could be a surprise solution.

Crystal Palace is the perfect move for the Spurs youngster. There is little competition for the right-back spot at Selhurst Park. With regular Premier League game time, Walker-Peters could return to Tottenham a new player.
