Crystal Palace are one of four Premier League teams interested in signing Josh King in the final days of the window, with the Sunday Mirror (11/10; page 78) reporting that Aston Villa, Fulham and Brighton also want the striker.
King looks destined to move before Friday’s deadline. The Sunday Mirror reports that he is keen to leave Bournemouth following their relegation from the Premier League.
And there are a host of top flight clubs keen to offer the Norway international an immediate return to the highest level.
According to the Sunday Mirror (11/10; page 78), Palace are battling Villa, Fulham and Brighton for the 28-year-old.
It does not appear however, that King will come cheap. The Guardian reported earlier this week that Bournemouth want £17.5 million for the forward, whose contract expires next summer.
It is perhaps little surprise to see Palace consider a move for King. Roy Hodgson did manage to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan in the summer.
However, with Christian Benteke out of form for some time, the Eagles would certainly be wise to add another goalscorer to their ranks.
King has scored 48 top flight goals during his time with the Cherries.
Admittedly, £17.5 million may seem steep for a player who will be able to move for nothing next summer. But with four Premier League clubs interested, Bournemouth fans will surely be bracing themselves for his departure before the end of the week.
