Report: Crystal Palace interested in Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks

Patrick Vieira could sign one Tottenham player this summer, with The Sun reporting that Crystal Palace are one of the Premier League sides interested in signing Harry Winks.

Winks is available to leave. He had already been struggling for game-time under Antonio Conte in the second-half of last season.

Spurs should have Oliver Skipp back from injury. They have also signed Yves Bissouma from Brighton. And with that, the path is now clear for Winks to leave.

The Dehumanisation of Footballers

There is definitely interest. In fact, The Sun names four clubs who want Winks, with Palace joined by Everton, Southampton and Sevilla in the race for his signature. Reports have claimed Newcastle also want him.

Tottenham meanwhile, want around £20 million for the 26-year-old.

Crystal Palace interested in Winks

It is definitely best for all parties if Winks leaves this summer. He was already struggling for game-time. And he is now facing even more competition for a place.

Winks is danger of watching several months of his career pass him by. And he is at an age where he should be approaching his peak.

Mauricio Pochettino once called Winks an ‘amazing‘ player. And he is an England international with plenty of experience at the highest level.

Unfortunately, he has probably not been able to kick on to the level some expected. But he could still be a real bargain at £20 million.

He would potentially thrive as the main man in another side’s midfield. Winks brings plenty of quality and composure on the ball. And he would surely relish the chance to play regularly again.

Spurs would appreciate having their transfer budget boosted by a further £20 million.

And with so much interest, they surely stand a very good chance of receiving that kind of bid in the weeks ahead.
