Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Radu Dragusin, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 19-year-old defender plays for Juventus, but his contract runs out in the summer and talks are believed to have reached an impasse.
Earlier this month, Calciomercato claimed that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce was interested in signing Dragusin on a free transfer.
However, RB Leipzig are also believed to be interested in the 6ft 3in centre-back, with Dayot Upamecano now set for Bayern Munich this summer.
And Gazzetta dello Sport has now claimed that Palace have also set their sights on Dragusin, who has been with Juve since 2018.
He made his first senior appearance in December’s 3-0 Champions League win against Dinamo Kiev, and has made four senior competitive appearances in total.
Juve coach Andrea Pirlo rates him highly, being quoted by Black & White & Read All Over as saying after the Kiev game: “He’s physically very strong.
“He’s very young and must develop on a technical level, but he will have time to do it, training every day with great champions.”
He is a talented, tall and young centre-back who Juve don’t want to let go, so the Serie A giants’ loss could be the Premier League’s gain.
However, RB Leipzig are tough competition, given how many players they’ve taken to the next level whilst in their ranks.
