Report: Crystal Palace eye Juventus starlet Radu Dragusin

Crystal Palace are weighing up a summer move for Juventus player Radu Dragusin, according to The Sun on Sunday (Print Edition; page 59).

It will be a case of second time lucky should the Eagles manage to get a deal over the line. Palace previously missed out on the defender but he could now be available on loan.

Dragusin has four Juventus appearances to his name but will be allowed out on loan to gain some much-needed experience of first-team football.

The 19-year-old has risen through the ranks in Turin and looks set for a bright future in the game. Dragusin has two caps for the Romania under-21s and also captained his country at under-19 level.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

Palace boss Roy Hodgson will be desperate to bolster his rearguard during the summer transfer window. His side have shipped 59 goals during 2020/21 and he’ll hope to improve on that next season.

Dragusin would perhaps represent a risk. He doesn’t have a deal of experience in the men’s game but he does need to start somewhere.

Palace don’t have the embarrassment of riches that some of their London rivals possess and will need to cut their cloth accordingly.

TBR View: Dragusin could thrive with a show of faith

All young players need a chance to start somewhere and the Romanian youngster is no different.

With a show of faith from Crystal Palace, he could quickly get up to speed and become a really good addition to the ranks.

He is strong in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and possesses strong energy levels.

Palace will hope to kick on next season and Dragusin could be the ideal signing to bolster their defensive ranks.
